Pieris japonica
Compact rounded shrub with narrowly obovate to elliptic, toothed, glossy, mid-green leaves to 9cm (3½in) long. White flowers are produced in pendent or semi-erect terminal panicles, to 15cm (6in) long, clustered at the tips of the shoots in late winter and spring.

Cultivation : Grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained, acid soil in full sun or light shade. In frost-prone areas, shelter from cold, drying winds.
