Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum'
The leaves have five to seven medium to large, moderately deeply divided lobes. The lobes are ovate to ovate-lanceolate with pointed tips and finly toothed margins. The leaves are a rich purple in the spring, becoming deeper in early summer, and turning to a brilliant scarlet in the autumn.

This acer can be placed in the sun or semi-shade. It does not flower. The height is ca. 250cm. Pruning not recommended. Deciduous.
