  Acer palmatum 'Summer Gold'

Acer palmatum 'Summer Gold'   Acer palmatum 'Summer Gold'
This new cultivar comes from Fratelli Gilardelli Nursery, Italy, which produced the popular 'Orange Dream'. The two plants are similar, except that the yellow leaf colour of 'Summer Gold' lasts all summer and changes with the season. Its new leaves are orange-yellow, becoming light yellow, then brightening up to become yellow-gold changing to light yellow-green in later summer, and finally bright golden yellow in the autumn. The medium-sized leaves have five to seven moderately divided, broad, oval lobes with short, pointed tips and clearly toothed margins.
