Japan, East Asia. Fronds 60 x 13cm, pinnate, pinnae 1.5cm wide. No noticeable auricle. Colour a drab green in contrast to the shiny green of C. falcatum. One of the ferns most frequently self-setting where not planted in the garden.
On the Clivicola the pinnae margins are roundly lobed.
