Stipa tenuissima 'Pony Tails
Densely tufted, deciduous perennial with erect, narrowly linear to filament-like, tightly inrolled, bright green leaves, 30cm (12in) or more long. In summer bears many narrow, nodding, softly feathery panicles, to 30cm (12in) long, greenish white at first, becoming buff.

Elegant densely-packed tufts of narrow-leaves, with very attractive soft, feathery plumes of dangling golden oat-like flowers on strong, wiry stems. Excellent for drying and flower arranging.
Suitable for: Sunny borders in any fertile free-draining or even dry soils.
Height & Spread: 40cm x 20cm (16in x 8in)
Care: Enjoy the winter effects of its pale-brown rustling leaves but cut back in early spring to encourage vigorous bushy new growth.
