Rose (climbing)
'Paul's Scarlet'
A vigorous, hardy rose with large clusters of bright scarlet, semi-double flowers. The stems are nicely pliable, making this rose ideal for training up walls, trellis, arches and pillars.
Height & Spread: 3 x 2m
Flowering Season: June - September
Planting Position: Full sun/part shade
Planting: Choose a sheltered area with rich, well-drained soil. Avoid areas where roses have been planted before. Mix plenty of fertiliser into the soil as you dig a hole that will comfortably hold the root ball.
Care: Water regularly in dry weather and apply rose feed once a month. Spray with a mixture of tomato food, garlic juice and fungicide - ideally once a month. Cut back in winter removing around half the growth of the previous year. Dead or faded flowers should be removed to aid repeat flowering.
