Pieris 'Forest Flame'
Compact, upright shrubs, with slender, inversely lance-shaped, finely toothed, glossy, dark green leaves, to 12cm (5in) long, bright red when young, turning pink, then creamy white, and finally green. White flowers, in erect then pendent, terminal panicles, to 15cm (6in long, are borne in mid-late spring.
Cultivation : Grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained, acid soil in full sun or light shade. In frost-prone areas, shelter from cold, drying winds.

A medium-sized, evergreen shrub, the leaves start red, turning pink, then green. White arches of flowers appear in May-June. AGM 1993.
Size: Approximately 4m (13') tall by 2.5m (8') spread in 10 years.
Site: Ideally in a sheltered spot in sun or partial shade, with a moist but well-drained acid (ericaceous) soil.
